Epilogue: Disordered and Flatulent is a multimedia work by artist, filmmaker and Magnum Photos member Mikhael Subotzky - a filmic study of father figures and generational inheritance.
First presented in 2022 at Goodman Gallery London, the film combines novel forms of hand-painted stop-motion, digital animation and live action, tied together by photographic archive and an operatic score to explore memory, family and the lasting impact of South Africa's colonial past.
This special Day Dreamer edition presents Jonathan M. Blair's complete score on vinyl alongside a 102-page book featuring works from the Epilogue project. Housed in a gatefold sleeve and custom slipcase, the release has been designed as a physical extension of the work itself. A QR code on the sleeve also provides access to the film, allowing the music, book and film to be experienced together.
